A general problem with online courses is that it simply dumps a huge amount of information on you, but it does not guide you through the material. It is great to have all the information you need, but actually understanding it and getting it stored in the memory banks is a different challenge.
Not being the most diligent student at my time, learnt very quickly that getting information into my head AND understanding it can be done by many hours of sweating and memorising, or it can be done by using a proper system. All you have to do is understand the sytem and that will reduce the time it takes you to understand the subject matter by 50% or even more. This way you also understand the material much better and faster. What I am saying is that it is not only the genious that gets good marks, it is also the student who uses a proper system.
An example of this is a simple math system that I have learnt. I can multiply any 2 or 3 digit numbers and give you answer without using a calculator within 2 seconds. It does not take a genious IQ to do this, just the comprehension of a simple system. I thought, surely the same principals can be used in anatomy and physiology courses online.
Now when it comes to anatomy and physiology courses online, or any other courses for that matter, the most common missing element is exactly that – a structured teaching and learning system. I have researched many of these online courses and the most of them do have great content, but no guidance.
